Dear Patrons of Spine,
The discord earlier this week concerning what was said previously in the chat-box, has caused rifts within Spine. I would like nothing more than to do justice by all members of the site and have the matter handled satisfactorily, as it is impossible to please all. I, WarPaint , would like to make it clear to any and all, whom use or view Spine; we absolutely, under no circumstance, condone words or actions that cultivate or observe any culture that excludes, discriminates against, or alienates others. Spine is a place meant for all to enjoy and express themselves through the wonderful art of words.
Although we cannot undo, erase, or change what was said, we can choose to accept Red’s apology and move forward or decline to. As site owner and admin, I am choosing personally to end this matter. However, please do not take this as a dismissal of anyone. Criticism, suggestions, questions, are all welcome in the admin account inbox to be handled privately. My decision to handle this situation has absolutely nothing to do with any previous affiliation with Red, rather a wholesome desire to return Spine to its original purpose; roleplay.
I apologize profusely, as well as my staff team, to any who was affected and in general. Words are beautiful but equally as dangerous. However, what is said by one does not represent nor speak for all. Reds’ apology is posted below and her thread has since been deleted but will be retained here. We hope ,sincerely, that we can put our best foot forward and continue toward a better foundation on Spine. Refreshing the slate and bringing forth a new one. No community is perfect but we can learn from our mistakes and move towards a healthier coexistence.
To the site, staff, members and guests. Recently, I made a comment, conducting a conversation. I mentioned a nickname that I gave my boss and a couple of people found that offensive. I will first and foremost apologize to the staff. Culturally speaking, sensitivity is paramount and accommodating everyone is difficult and to have me come in and shake things up, it’s the spice of life and if nothing else, prepares us for events in real life. I will also comment that while my comment was not directed toward anyone here, just one individual who does not even function outside of work, it was not meant to be defining of my opinion of LGBTQ+ communities. I made my comment freely, as I have protected with my life. I worked with some of the finest, and I mean finest, of the LGBTQ+ community in the Marines, Navy and Air Force. It was another Marine, who is gay, who encouraged my nickname of my boss. The behavior was indecent however, I do hope it is understood that I do not have anything against the community. I apologize for the discomfort. Red.
We hope we can progress and learn from this situation whilst simultaneously using more tact and consideration with our words and conversations. I apologize to any whom felt the whole debacle was not handled properly, however measures have been taken to ensure appropriate conduct, privately. Should any members have further questions please direct them to the Admin account to be addressed, please.
As for the matter, it is closed. A simple statement, I shall stand by. Further discussion of it should be kept to Pm. I cannot usher patrons enough to utilize your staff members here and please FEEL FREE to contact us via message to discuss any concerns or questions. The Admin account is always available to members. Further discussion of the matter is closed publicly, to the chatbox and the public boards. All that can be said, has been. Although handled privately, the matter at hand has been dealt with and measures enacted should there be any issues further down the road. I hope any who wish to stay will help to work towards a happy, well assimilated community. Who, together can bring about some amazing journeys and stories on Spine and build a genuine camaraderie between fellow roleplayers.
