The storm had passed by dawn, the morning sun shined in through an upstairs window right down onto the face of a sleeping, dingy canine. Dried mud still clung to her limbs, her belly, bits of her chest; it was as if the dog had fallen asleep soaked and un-groomed- that’s exactly what had happened. It wasn’t because of exhaustion or illness, the female simply had no desire to clean herself the night before. As the sun fell on her face the adolescent stretched and groaned, tightly shutting her eyes before moving her head back hoping to find some shade to continue her slumber. It did not happen. Huffing she rolled and arched her spine, pulling her limb over her eyes. After a few moments she sighed and rolled to her feet, continuing sleep was futile and so she reluctantly rolled to her feet and stretched. Joints popped pleasantly as she did so. Finally, she shook out her coat, dust and dried mud fell- though not nearly enough.
Raziri looked out of the hospital window over what was left of the human city. Dark eyes saw a city in ruin, slowly being taken back over by nature- but not nearly quick enough. Ears twitched dismissively at what she saw, turning away she began once again to make her rounds through the hospital, scavenging useful items to bring back to her room as well as snapping up rats and other vermin when she could. Leisurely she made her way towards what the humans would call the cafeteria. There were always some rodents lurking in that room, though the food they snacked on was dwindling low she wasn’t sure how much longer shed be able to stay and eat them.
On her way, she paused at the sight of the sack with straps. She’d avoided it..until now. Sighing, she pushed her muzzle through the strap and then as she lifted her head she stepped one leg into the strap. It dangled lightly against her left leg but otherwise didn’t restrict her movement. At least now she would be able to carry more to her room. Raziri continued on her way to the cafeteria.
