 AUDITION, TIME! So now The Rangers and their boards are 95% finished, it is time to now make the group open to the public! Some roles in the community are available for everyone to join, but some roles only need a single individual! High-rank positions need filled, and they need filled by YOU! All rank duties/descriptions can be found Here
SHERIFF is currently filled by Rooster!
DEPUTY is filled by Bran!
CAPTAIN is filled by Yakov.
LIEUTENANT is filled by Stark.
NEEDED POSITIONS; LAW ENFORCEMENT & COMMUNITY DEPUTY: The second-in-command in the law enforcement section and carries out similar duties to the Sheriff, but the deputy does not have the freedom to organize patrols or stations unless otherwise authorized by the Sheriff. The Deputy may serve in the courts and escort prisoners under the Sheriff's word.
The Deputy is the support to the Sheriff and is responsible for organizing the protection of the community home. The Deputy usually maintains a station on the grounds of the Chateau.
CAPTAIN: Third-in-command in the law enforcement section. The Captain is responsible for training new recruits and educating the public and law enforcement alike on the laws of the community. The Captain does not usually appear in court unless the Captain has been named a witness. The Captain is responsible for investigating petty crimes within the community and takes public complaints for the Sheriff. The Captain is responsible for maintaining the Regulators and is often stationed to guard the Lodges, where prisoners are kept.
LIEUTENANT: Fourth-in-command and responsible for settling legal disputes within the community, usually disputes that are mild in nature and need only a mediator to settle. The Lieutenant also serves as public defender. The Lieutenant usually assists the Captain with their duties and are often shared. The Lieutenant is responsible for overseeing Rangers.
Mayor: The face the community looks up to and the overseer of the business aspect of the community who keeps track of revenue, supplies had, supplies needed, and uses diplomacy to solve community issues. The Mayor is responsible for conducting meetings, organizing community events, and preserving the laws of the land by setting an example for the members. The Mayor deals directly with outside parties with whom The Rangers will trade or otherwise do business with. The Mayor keeps a check on the Law Enforcement side while Law Enforcement keeps a check on the Mayor, creating a balance of power between the two factions of the community.
Assistant Mayor: The right-hand to the Mayor who has similar responsibilities while also providing great counsel to the Mayor. The Assistant Mayor is charged with making sure the community is aware of town meetings and are attending certain community events that the Mayor has organized. The Assistant Mayor is also conditioned and poised to take the current Mayor's place should anything happen and while act as Mayor until an election can be held.
Market Manager: The Market Manager is a single position and is responsible for making sure that no illegal goods are being sold on the premises. Illegal goods include weaponry, illicit drugs, and poisons. The Market Managers are also responsible for overseeing the daily intake of prey by hunters. TO AUDITION To audition for a role (and you can audition for more than one role in the pack but only get chosen for one) Please follow the guidelines below.1. To audition, please provide your character's name, age, and a brief description of their major personality traits.
2. Provide a brief summary of your character's strengths and weaknesses (i.e. are they great with their muscles and strength, but a little slow to run? Do they have nerves of steel, or do they have a tendency to get nervous under pressure? Are they nice or are they aggressive?)
3. Please provide a roleplay sample along with the above information. Roleplay out your character fulfilling the duties of their position! Get creative! If you want to be Deputy, why not roleplay out an arrest? Or as Mayor, how would you handle a dispute between pack members? If you'd like a prompt, please PM ripple and I can provide you a prompt for your role.*Auditions will be held through the week and will end on 4/22/18, but if interest is great enough in a single position, then I will judge the winner of the position based on the quality and creativity of their roleplay sample. I am very fair and will consider your sample on the following attributes: Clarity, Grammar, and Creativity. I will score posts out of 5. Clarity worth 1.5 points, Grammar worth 1.5 points, and Creativity 2 points. *Any positions not applied for or positions that are still available by the time auditions are over will then be given on a first-come-first served basis, with all the above criteria taken into consideration. So don't wait until the audition is over to apply- perhaps the position you covet won't be available! **Sample word minimum is the same as the site minimum!

Offering up Bran for consideration as Deputy. at the prime age of 4.5 years old
Bran is a steady force of quiet leadership. He is often a comforting presence in that he is not greatly overwhelming or underwhelming, he just is. The brute is of a tranquil amiability but take him for no court jester, Bran has the muscle to prove himself. Honest determination and drive have combined to cultivate Bran; as the brute has always been a blue collar, hardworking dog. Laboring for all that he desires and the peace of mind that he in general, is a good lad. Years of sheep herding have honed a precision ability and desire to get the job done, whatever that may be. Bran is a deeply loyal dog and finds himself constantly rooting for the underdog, he is a soft heart behind his placid nature. Despite his hard working and protective nature, Bran is prone to listlessness, without a job he can grow irritable. He also has no natural born desire to be a leader although he would fit the criteria. He much prefers answering to others and having goals to work towards. It is easier on his mental health to be at the beck of others, just like he was with his master and owner. Having a pack and leader gives him stability and peace of mind to do his job.

Roleplay example
Sweat dripped from the tri-colored behemoth, pouring off his shoulders in tiny rivulets of perspiration. Head hung low with jaws gaping, Bran herded his prisoner before him, his dual colored eyes never leaving the mutt. A guttural sound, from the depths of his belly, remained in his throat. A warning that should this murderer try to run, justice would not be far behind him. It was his solemn vow to protect the land The Ranger's touched, to bring peace and harmony to those around them. And Bran was not prone to failure. He had chased, for several days and nights, the perpetrator that now walked before him defeated apathy. Stamina and determination had caught him alone and grit would not let him escape. The dangerous dog aptly named Kaos, had been decimating weaker dogs. Leaving behind his wake death and destruction and an unnatural balance of karma within the world everyone shared. His blatant disregard for life disgusted Bran, who couldn't fathom the pain and suffering of those Kaos had tortured. Bran would deliver this monster to Rooster, to The Rangers. He would ensure that this creature of pure hatred and villainy would see his wrongs rectified through whatever punishment the pack could conjure up for him. "Pick up the pace and rest assured, we are not far from the Rangers. Any false moves and I can guarantee you will be punished to the fullest authority of the Rangers. Now be a good lad and cooperate." He barked at Kaos, relieved when the prisoner complied. Bran stayed on top of him, letting his breath remind Kaos that escape had never been an option and certainly wasn't one now. Bran allowed only a brief moment of comfort to radiate through him as the edge of the Rangers territory came into view. Rooster would be waiting and Bran was eager to deliver.

Stark - 3 - wolf - LT
strengths: Intelligent, Calm, Methodical, Stoic, Protective.
weaknesses:Proud, Predatory, Still learning,.
Stark is an honorable individual, he is kind and just, but he will not stand by idly when action is necessary. He is stoic and observant, constantly watching those around him and learning about them and from them. He is methodical in his actions, he doesn’t do much without thought and he is just as careful with his words- often giving him the appearance of being standoffish or aloof. When he chooses to speak it is with conviction and he will stand by whatever he says. Stark is very much a wolf and it shows in his posture and demeanor, he is still a predator that’s new to the world of dogs.

AUDITION POST
The morning was eerily still, most creatures had yet to rise for the day but the nocturnal animals were already tucking in for their sleep. The Lieutenant sat on the front steps of the mansion listening to the silence as the sun slowly began its ascent into the sky. Dew glittered on the blades of grass now that the suns rays were beginning to touch them. With a deep breath the Wolf let out a howl, calling for the Rangers to assemble before him- regardless of when they went to bed, he called them to assemble immediately. They would have a long day ahead of them. Now that the Vineyard had been settled and their ranks were growing, it was time for a scouting mission.
One by one, the Rangers he was in charge of came forward. Some drug their feet, still tired while others moved with a bounce in their step. After several minutes of waiting, the Wolf nodded, noting that one was missing- he’d have a word with her later but for now, she would have to wait. “Its time we had a scouting mission, we will be combing through the Mountains today, in two teams. Andros, Karma, and myself will take the mountain slopes. Kier, Renier and Vale will take the foothills.” He paused to give them time to shift to their assigned groups, the two he would be with settled beside each other. “We won’t be searching for useful items today- but if you find any by all means, bring them back. Our goal is to search the region for predators, water sources and prey type and abundance. You will have until dawn tomorrow, then I expect a full report from the foothills team.” He let them soak in the information before he stood, signaling it was time for them to begin.
It was important for them to know the land near them, especially the prey and predators in the area. When pups began exploring that would likely be the main area of exploration, they needed to have enough of a presence to deter any predator before then- but it helped to know what they would be up against. One dog wouldn’t stand a chance against a bear or mountain lion. “If there are no questions, lets move out.” He waited long enough for a question to be asked before descending the stairs and moving off at a quick jog towards the mountain peaks.

Yakov
Four years
Up for consideration as Captain
Yakov is strong, experienced and considerate of others. He does not rush to assume a situation or the outcome that may come forth. He will listen to all sides before making a sound decision. He will also confer with highers before making a decision so that all parties are heard and all considerations have been taken forth, if necessary. Sometimes, he will have to make a decision before anything can be done and is not above rectifying any mistakes.
Yakov does get defensive if he feels he is correct in his decision and does get unnerved when too many commands are coming downwind and there aren’t enough paws to get the work done. He also has issues when there is not enough communication and if there’s so much of a lack that there is conflict or a conflict of interest. His biggest weakness is working too hard for too long and not getting enough downtime.

Filling his lungs with air, the Rottweiler stifled an annoyed sigh as yet another complaint came to him in the form of petty theft. Food was stolen from a pack member likely from a new pack member trying to make their name known. He was making his name known all right and Yakov did not appreciate that fact. However, he hoped from this endeavor, a new outlook would be garnered by the thief.
As his large paws strode up to the accuser, he smiled invitingly, masking his irritation. Hey Yakov, said the plaintiff, I’m sorry to bother you but it happened again. Kramer was around my den again and I’m missing some venison. This is the second time and I’m about ready to rip him a new one. Next time, I won’t come to you if I catch him near my stuff again. Yakov nodded, listening and formulating his next reply. I will have a word with Rooster about this, being a second offense. Meantime, I will speak with Kramer and get to the bottom of this. Thank you for your patience. Please don’t do anything rash. Dean nodded, slightly miffed but understanding of what Yakov said.
Now the Rottweiler set his sights on tracking down Kramer, the offender. This annoyance brought Yakov’s blood pressure up slightly,since he had just talked to this fool about getting his act together. This time, he would have to act before this became the Sheriff’s problem. The offending youth wasn’t too far from him and Yakov let out a soft growl to let him know he was around. Kramer approached Yakov from the woodworks, not too far from Dean’s den, the smell of vension fresh on his muzzle. Yakov’s blue eyes narrowed and Kramer gave a weak smile.
It’s so damn good, Yakov, I can’t help it Sticky Paws as Yakov decided to call him was giving excuse after excuse and the Rottweiler shook his head, looking him square in the eye. This is the second time, Kramer, I have to do something now before it becomes a bigger problem. I have an idea. Perhaps it’s time you hunted and brought home some meat for the pack, to make up for your misconduct. I will escort you and you will be on probation for a period that the Sheriff and I will deem appropriate. There was no room for a If it will please your highness and Kramer new it. He huffed, feeling slighted, but Yakov was right.
This didn’t need to get worse before it did. He knew the consequences if he continued acting like this and it wouldn’t look well upon him if he kept messing up. Unless he could be sneaky...

Thank you for those that have auditioned!Some positions remain unfilled, but I am happy to see the Law Enforcement ranks becoming filled up <3 WarPaint, Bran is accepted as Deputy. era, Stark is accepted as Lieutenant Red, Yakov is accepted as Captain. Thank you for your wonderful audition posts. As a reward for being so creative and talented, along with the positions for your characters, I would also like to award you 75 bones! I'll be posting an announcement soon about the creation of the Rangers IC, a meeting thread of sorts for us all to participate in to finalize the Rangers at last! Be on look out for that, as I will be posting it before the end of the night <3 **All other positions are still open for other characters. Audition posts will still take place for these positions but no rewards will be given upon position acceptance. I appreciate everyone who has posted here and I welcome you to The Rangers!!
